About the producer

uni — Kasai, Hyogo
Nestled in the Uni district of Kasai City, Hyogo — a quiet rural town beside the verdant Harima Central Park — uni is a winery whose very name is rooted in place and purpose. The kanji "宇" (U) evokes the universe and the idea of all things under one roof, while "仁" (Ni) carries the spirit of compassion and benevolence. In Latin, uni simply means "only" — or "unique."
Housed in a lovingly renovated town factory, the space honours its industrial past while embracing the present: fermentation and aging rooms run alongside a kitchen-dining area and boutique shop, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing both the sweeping vineyard landscape and the winemaking process within. At uni, nature, craft, and community converge in a way that feels less like a business and more like family.
